For the last three years, the print version of this publication was launched alongside Jersey Finance’s annual Private Wealth Conference. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our conference will now take place on 14 December 2020, much later in the year than intended.
The Trust Jersey publication, a supplement to the STEP Journal, still went out in June, as planned, and this website collects the content it contains.
STEP Journal supplements are sponsored content designed to promote particular jurisdictions to the private client world. They typically include updates on recent and upcoming developments in the jurisdiction – such as legislation and case law – and articles about the benefits of doing business there. Read more about STEP Journal supplements, and download a PDF of Trust Jersey, here.
Making a positive impact
The theme for the 2020 Jersey Finance conference is ‘Making a Positive Impact’, with a clear focus on the next generation of wealth owners.
This year has brought disruptive and challenging times for us all, but what has become very clear is that it is our shared responsibility as an industry, and our obligation as good citizens, to work together with our partners to support each other and our communities at home and abroad through the pandemic.
To that end, on this website, you will articles touching on many pertinent themes, including ESG investment, philanthropy, sustainability and disruptive technology.

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. STEP works to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promote education and high professional standards among our members.
STEP members help families plan for their futures, from drafting a will to advising on issues concerning international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving.
Full STEP members, known as TEPs, are internationally recognised as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.
STEP’s qualifications are widely recognised as the benchmark for the private client and wealth planning industry and are taken by accountants, lawyers, trustees, bankers and others to demonstrate their specialist knowledge and expertise.
The qualifications are designed and delivered by practitioners, for practitioners, and are recognised and respected by employers, regulators and clients across the world.
Courses can either be taken as stand-alone qualifications, to further develop your knowledge in specialist areas, or as part of our Exam Route to Full Membership of STEP.
